22.9. Idexx Setup

Here is the Idexx Setup screen in Settings:

In the relevant fields, add your Idexx username and password, and tick the checkbox to enable Idexx integration.

IDEXX Integration

HQ has a wonderful integration with IDEXX. At this time, we have no plans to integrate with any other diagnostics testing companies.

You will need two things in order to use these features:

1. An account with IDEXX.

2. The appropriate services have been added in your clinic’s Settings> Services & Products. The correct services should begin with “Idexx,” followed by the code. For in-house, the test name should begin with “Idexx Vetlab Station.”

To enable this feature:

  1. Go to Settings > Idexx Setup
  2. Enter VetConnect Plus credentials.

Enabling IDEXX Line Items

The second part of the integration requires that your clinic enable the correct line items.
The service must begin with “IDEXX ###” or “IDEXX VetLab” followed by the test name. These services are enabled for your clinic in Services & Products.

  1. Go to Settings > Services & Products > +Add New Item
  2. Type into the search bar the word Idexx and click on the Service category to expand the available matches.
  3. Select the tests your clinic will utilize and add these to your Settings.
  4. Assign prices and begin using with animal appointments.

Using the IDEXX Integration

To add/order a test for an animal:

1. Go to checkout, Services tab, and add an IDEXX test. They all begin with “Idexx.”
2. Go to the new “Idexx” tab in checkout, tick the tick box and click Create Order.

Creating an Idexx order

Depending on what kind of test, various things can happen at this point. If it’s via a Vetlab Station (which is a machine located in your clinic that you insert tests into), you will be prompted on the machine to insert the test. If the test is a sample that has to be mailed( or picked up) to Idexx, a shipping requisition label will be generated in HQ for you to print and send the sample in.

To view results:

1. Once the results are in, click the See Results button, and the test results will be opened via Vet Connect Plus.

To view test status:

1. Go to Clients > Idexx Results. Here you’ll be able to see which tests are still out and which have come back in.
