Some clinics, such as mobile units, may opt to schedule specific times for spay/neuter appointment spots. This adds a layer of complexity to your day. Our time-based scheduling feature can help with that!

If your clinic uses individually assigned appointment times throughout the day for your spay/neuter drop offs, you will want to enable time-based scheduling. This allows you to access a spay/neuter appointment type on the Advanced Wellness Calendar.

Note: This is a very rare setting. If your clinic has check in windows, that is handled via HQ’s normal calendar. There is no need to enable this setting.

Enabling Time-Based Spay/Neuter Scheduling

By default, Time-Based Spay/Neuter scheduling will be disabled. To enable this for your clinic, go to Settings > Clinic Profile > Preferences > Use time-based spay/neuter scheduling. You will need to set the appointment duration. This determines how many slots are available on your schedule.

Scheduling Time-Based Spay/Neuter Appointments

The Wellness Calendar:

You will now utilize the Wellness Calendar to schedule your spay/neuter appointments. You will see a new Spay/Neuter room and Spay or Neuter appointment type appear on your Wellness Calendar.

Just like when scheduling other wellness appointments, here you will drag and drop the spay/neuter appointment type into the spay/neuter room for the desired time slot.

When creating an appointment, you will see a new section on Step 3 – “Confirm Appointment” that allows you to view or adjust the Start and End time of the appointment.

After the appointment is scheduled, you can now view and edit the appointments on either the Wellness Calendar or the Capacities Calendar.

Spay/Neuter by Capacities Calendar

Scheduling spay/neuter appointments through the “Capacities Calendar” will not automatically assign a start and end time to the appointment. This must be manually entered before confirming the appointment.

It’s important to note that if a spay/neuter appointment is made from the “Capacities Calendar”, it will NOT appear on the “Wellness Calendar.”

When filling out an online appointment request, your clients will now select an available appointment date and time.
