The very first thing a clinic must do in their day is pull your drugs out of the drug safe and START YOUR DRUG LOG. It’s critical to understand this very important point:

The physical steps are presented here to start the drug log. If you are unclear about what a drug log is or other nuanced parts of drug logging, please review other pages in the section.
Staring the Drug Log Using the Centralized Model (Most Common)
1. Go to Medical > Drug Logs Direct Link: https://clinichq.com/app#/checkout/medical/drug-log
2. Click the blue Start Day button
3. Read and Agree to the acknowledgment.
4. Confirm Bottle Balances. Review the bottles and bottle balances. Look at the name/concentration of the drug, balance and bottle #.
5. Type in Witness initials. The witness initials can be one or more people involved in the process of pulling out the bottles and verifying the totals.
Decentralized Method (Rare)
The steps here are for a “Centralized Drug Draw” method. If your clinic uses a Decentralized method, the steps are the same except when you start the drug log, each team begins their own drug log by selecting their team in the drop down presented after “Start Team Drug Log.”
