Adding IDEXX Tests to an Appointment

The first step in ordering an IDEXX test (either Send Out or In-House) will be to add the correct line item to the animal’s services.
The service must begin with “IDEXX ###” (Send out tests) or “IDEXX VetLab” (In-house tests) followed by the test name. These services are enabled for your clinic in Services & Products. More on how to add new service items for your clinic profile HERE.

Creating the Order

Although the service item can be added from other places in Clinic HQ, it can only be ordered from the checkout section. If you are not already in the checkout, open or edit the appointment and go to the tab, IDEXX.

Send Out Tests

When you order a test that will be sent out for completion, the Create Order button will generate a PDF requisition label to print and put with the testing substance.
Note: All send out test Service names will begin with IDEXX ###

In-House Tests

When ordering an in-house test, select the test and click Create Order. A dropdown will appear with the VetLab station’s identification number or “IVLS#.” If your clinic has more than one station, make sure to select the appropriate destination.

Once the order has been successfully placed, the status of the test will be Submitted. A time stamp and lot of who placed the order will also appear here.

The test must be submitted on the Idexx tab in order to Checkout the appointment. The results do not have to be available but the test must be ordered.
