Take home paperwork includes aftercare instructions and a visit summary. Every patient’s caretaker should get take home paperwork regardless of appointment type.
What should be included in take home paperwork?
- A visit summary including services received, rabies certificate info and any client communications.
- Detailed aftercare instructions and ideally an aftercare video linked by QR code.
- An emergency number to contact if their pet becomes unwell.

Can we have different aftercare instructions for different types of procedures?
Yes and No.
You can create custom aftercare templates for each procedure your clinic performs, print them out for clients, or use the Print/Email Paperwork tool to send different templates to various recipients.
However, HQ cannot automatically email or print instructions based on the procedure type. Currently, you can only have one “Wellness” Aftercare document. To get a good idea about how this might work, look at our templates here.
