Wellness Appointment Types
If your clinic provides any services to animals that do not involve spay/neuter surgery, those services would be scheduled as a Wellness appointment. The Wellness appointment is a broad category that includes sub-appointment types.
Examples of Appointment Types are:
- Vaccine Clinic
- Dental
- Wellness Exam
- Surgery (non s/n)
- Petfood Pantry Pickup
In wellness settings, you can add and adjust the different types of wellness appointments that you have, assigning them durations and deciding whether they appear in Patient Flow or not.
Create an Appointment Type
Go to Settings > Wellness Settings Click the +Add New button.
Title is the title displayed for the public if this appointment type is offered through E-appointments, it will also be the name your team sees when looking at the Wellness Calendar.
Examples of Appointment Types under Wellness include “Vaccine Clinic,” “Dental,” “Wellness Care,” “Other Surgery(non s/n)”
Description is only displayed on the e-appointment form.
Duration is how frequently you would want animals to check in for that appointment type. You may also consider the hours the service is held. For example, if you have a 2-hour event and want to see as many animals as possible in that window, you may set the duration to 1 minute.
Color can be selected for the appointment button. DO NOT LEAVE WHITE! The appointment title is white text, so the color should be something other than white.
Patient Flow is the type of appointment flow. If you enable a wellness appointment to be in Patient Flow, anesthetic or not, you can move animals in those appointments through Patient Flow. If it is disabled, it will not show up in Patient Flow at all.
Anesthetic = When checked in, the appointment will appear in PF automatically under the anesthetic flow. The appointment type will follow the anesthetic flow in PF with exam & premed, induction, etc.
Non-Anesthetic = When checked in, the appointment will appear in PF automatically under the non-anesthetic flow. The appointment type will not follow a sedation protocol. Drugs can still be logged, but the Patient Flow view will just be the Roster and treatment sheet.
Disabled = The appointment will not automatically appear in Patient Flow when checked in.
Save Appointment Type.
Once the appointment is created, navigate to the tab for Rooms to assign the appointment type to a room.
