Settings is the foundation for your Clinic HQ application. The calendar, email reminders, and pricing – every important field in HQ – are driven by what has been input by your clinic in the Settings section.
Can’t get your calendar to do what you want it to do? Fix it in settings! Pricing is off for a specific vaccine? Fix it in Settings!
Let’s begin by understanding where the Settings section even is in HQ. Scroll to the bottom of the left hand navigation menu and you will see a Settings section. Click Go to Settings.
Not seeing this option? Your user role may not have permission to view or modify settings. Get in touch with your HQ Admin to see if this is the issue.
Clicking this will open a long list of sub-sections that make up your Settings. Let’s look at each of these sub-sections and demystify them.
Settings
Clinic Profile |
Your clinic’s information and preferences. Includes a section for customizable text on HQ’s default templates. |
Users |
Here you can add, remove, and edit users, their roles, and access permissions. |
Vets |
Add/edit veterinarian information, schedules, and surgical profiles. |
Services and Products |
Add/edit services, products, and OTC items available for your clinic. Set their default pricing here. |
Packages |
Packages allow you to bundle services and items for quick selection. Create/edit them here. |
Custom Fields |
Custom fields are the base of customized reporting, e-app questions, and medical quick notes. |
Tags |
Client and animal behavior tags. Set up available tags here. |

Vaccine Setup |
Vaccine allotment setup specifically for rabies vaccines/certificates. |
Divvy Setup |
Create surgical teams and animal groups to quickly assign patients in Patient Flow. |
Patient Flow Setup |
Create drug protocols, enable controlled drug logging, and manage your controlled substance container logs. Patient Flow Automations are set up here. |
Medical Notes |
Set up pre-generated blurbs for external client communication. Link items, drugs, actions, and much more to a dedicated medical note for quick communication. |
